1 June 2006, Thursday

My paper route was very enjoyable this morning. I woke up earlier than usual and got going on it right away. It really helps that Brian loaded the papers I had prepped into the car for me last night. All I had to do was eat a good breakfast and head out.

When I was back home I had an unexpected surprise. I was working up in my attic office when I was invaded. Gadget crawled right into my lap as I was typing on the keyboard and insisted that I take a pet the kitten break. She literally placed herself between me and my keyboard. This is the first time she has ever requested petting. Before it was I’ll come over and see you, but you have to hold me down to pet me. She has taken the attitude that when she wants to be petted the world will stop and she will be petted now! I guess that Gadget is taking over Polgara’s role as the princess.

2 June 2006, Friday

The flea medication I ordered arrived! Both of my cats have multiple fleas. I have found several crawling on their tummies. I am oh so looking forward the fleas death. I would love to know how we got fleas in our house again. I think this is due to Gadgets exploration of the basement. We have not been allowing the kittens into the basement. However, a few weeks ago Gadget snuck down there. Brian’s office is down there and I went down to ask him a question. I did not get the basement door closed completely behind me and my fuzzy shadow followed me down. She promptly hid and would not come out for a few days. I think there were probably some left over fleas from when Polgara died. I did find a flea on her when she died.

Oh, I also remembered to weight myself this morning. I think it is funny that I am having to work to remember to weigh myself. Then again, I could still be forgetting to eat. Forgetting to weigh myself is a much healthier error. This morning my naked morning weight was 277.0, which I am highly pleased with as I am on my period and bloated. Only half a pound up from the last time I actually thought to weight myself.

Today I went to the Columbus Arts Festival. I have not gone to this in years and probably would not have taken the time to go this year if I was not volunteering at it. My SCA group worked one of the beer tents at the festival. I learned how to pour beer for the fist time in my life. Can you believe that at the ripe old age of 39 I poured beer from a tap for the first time? Well, it is true. I am just not a drinking person and I have never been to a keg party or worked in any place that served beer. I poured a few cups and then switched over to selling the beer. I’m much more comfortable with taking orders and handeling money.

I did get to the festival before my shift so I could walk around and see all of the artwork. This festival is really huge! There was so many different types of artwork. I did find one piece that I had to take home with me. I called Brian and checked our finances to see if I could afford it. Money will be tight for the month, but I brought home the dancing frog prince and princess. This is a really neat iron sculpture that I will put on my back porch.

Well, tomorrow I’m off to Michigan to work for a client for three days.

It was wonderful of Brian to have stuffed all of my papers for me. When I got home from Michigan late last night my papers were all ready to be loaded in my car for delivery. I was expecting to have to put them together when I got home, and instead, when I walked into the house, he had them all ready to go. Brian keeps surprising me with little things like this.

When I returned from delivering the paper and had stepped out of the shower he told me to get dressed nicely. He took me out to lunch at BW3. Since I’m running off to go play in the woods this weekend he wanted to spend a little time with me while I was actually home.

After a nice lunch while we played triva we went and donated blood at the Red Cross. Brian was not a blood donor before I lured him to see the vampires for the first time. Now we go and donate together. I hit my six-gallon mark when I donated today.

11 June 2006, Sunday

I went to Northern Oaken War Manuevers this weekend. I arrived at 4:30 Friday to help set up the archery range. They had it well started, actually practically done when I arrived. However, my tools in the truck made a big difference. We kept needing to use my tiny screwdriver to open up holes that were not quite large enough.

Saturday I completed my Marshal-In-Training and am now a Middle Kingdom Archery Marshal. Huzzah!

I did dishes several times during the day at this event. I started with doing dishes at breakfast. I stopped in again in the afternoon and cleaned up the lunch dishes. Feast was really neat and a long way off from the kitchen - as in the other side of the lake. I’m glad I did not have to transport all the food over there. However, since my truck was parked near the feast location I did transport the leftover food back to the kitchen. After the feast someone else had claimed the dishes so I wrapped up the left over meat and froze it. There was no reason for it to have any chance to spoil.

Sunday morning I packed up my tent – which I really need to seal the edges of – and drove home. Yeah, my tent was warmer than the merchant tent I slept in at Baron Wars. However, I had not finished making the walls for it and they gapped open on the corners. I really must get this done before I go to any more camping events with this tent.

Gadget missed me this weekend. She came up to my office and was positively pushy as she climbed into my lap in the office. Pet me now! Gizmo decided to join her up in my office and offered to type for me. He is sticking his head through the back of my desk and batting my fingers as I type. I don’t know if my laughing or his antics are making it harder to type.

What a day!

I went to Victory to get measured and a new workout. I’m been doing a circuit program of same sets of exercises since the second of May. First I do one exercise, then another then a second set of the first. Rotating back and forth. I feel like I’m doing more of a workout in less time. I’m also doing most of my workout downstairs at Victory. Today, I changed what I am doing on my circuit workout. I really needed a change.

My newest measurments from Victory and my previous ones:

April 3 April 19 June 14
  • Upper arms: L: 16 inches, R: 16.5 inches
  • Breasts: 47.5 inches
  • Waist: 45 inches
  • Hips: 61.5 inches
  • Upper thigh: L; 30 inches, R: 30.5 inches
  • Calf: L:18 inches, R: 18.5 inches
  • Weight: 287 pounds
  • Upper arms: L: 16 inches, R: 16 inches
  • Breasts: 45.5 inches
  • Waist: 44 inches
  • Hips: 59 inches
  • Upper thigh: L; 30.5 inches, R: 29 inches
  • Calf: L:17.5 inches, R: 18.5 inches
  • Weight: 283 pounds
  • Upper arms: L: ?, R: 16 inches
  • Breasts: 47.5 inches UP 2.5 inches!
  • Waist: 42.5 inches DOWN 1.5 inches
  • Hips: 59
  • Upper Thigh: L: ?. R: 28.5inches DOWN .5 inches
  • Calf: L: ?, R: 18 DOWN .5 inches
  • Weight: 284 pounds UP 1 pound
The person who measured me did not do it the same as last time. I am up a pound, then again how much water did I drink at breakfast? Plus this weight was taken when I was fully dressed after breakfast. It is definitely not a real accurate weight.

The workout at Victory was a great way to relieve my stress and worry about my kittens. My little fuzzy children are now eunuchs. Today was their big day at the Roaming Animal Sterilization Unit at Low cost. They each had general anesthesia and surgical sterilization, as well as all their vaccinations and a micro chip inserted.

They are not really completely with it right now. However, they are doing well and in a few days will be back to pouncing each other. The vet who did the surgery really likes their harnesses. She asked me where I got them. They are actually just regular cat collars I bought at Meijers. However, my kittens are so small that they have to wear them as harnesses. Gizmo is actually up to wearing his as a bandolier with only one leg through the overlap. Gadget, on the other hand, still needs to wear her overlap through both legs.

It is finally done. I have been substituting for Dan who substituted for my paper route earlier. He delivers "The Bag" which I call the bag of hell. This thing took forever to do! I can stuff my paper route in about an hour or two and delivery never takes more than three hours. This one took Brian and me together over five hours just to bag it up.

Then there was the delivery. On my route everyone either gets the same paper with inserts or they get nothing. On Dan’s route there are two different versions of the bag. Each address has to be carefully checked to see which set it should get. Plus, there were houses that were not on the list at all and others that I just physically could not find. It took me over seven hours to deliver this route. I sure hope the amount that I get paid for doing this endless route is way higher than the pittance I get for my route.

On a happier note, today was the one-month anniversary of my kittens coming home. They are feeling much better after their surgery. I am theoretically supposed to keep them from running and jumping. That certainly is not happening. These cats are tearing up and down the stairs, playing chase and pounce. When Gizmo pounces Gadget she occasionally hisses at him when he lands on her stitches. Other then putting them in separate cages, which I do not have, I do not see any way to keep them from rough housing as much as they want to.

21 June 2006, Wednesday

The kittens got to meet their actual vet for the first time today. It has been a week since their surgery and it was time for their follow up visit. The kittens are doing great. They are going to be giant cats. Dr. Crafton estimates they will each be twelve to sixteen pounds, easily. Brian joked about ordering the cats saddles as they are going to be mooses.

Tomorrow I’m off to Michigan, again, for work. I am packing my free weights so that I can workout in my room. I had one of the trainers write up a complete set of my workout with diagrams so I know what I should be doing. The stick figure drawings will help me remember what is what on my workout. This way, even though I won’t be able to go to the gym for a while, I will be able to keep up on my weight training.

Oh my how my kittens have grown!

They are noticeably bigger than they were when they came home just a month ago. They are using Polgara and Belgarath's food dish now. They have gotten too big to use the little glass bowl I use. Then again, they don't use silverware.

Both kittens are wearing their collars as bandoliers now.

Brian took these pictures so I could take them with me on my trip to Michigan. What kind of parent would I be if I didn't want to show off photos of my children? Yeah, my children are fuzzy, but they are still the only juveniles in our home.

Gadget and Gizmo love the fact I have a paper route because it is the source of some of their favorite toys - the plastic straps that bind the paper bundles.

I saw the chiropractor today and got squashed. My back is doing Ok, but my arms keep going numb again. I think I have been sleeping in the wrong position while I was traveling. I know my body is very attached to my nice foam mattress at home. I never seem to sleep as well when I am traveling. I went to the chiropractor because I was worn out from all the work I had done up in Michigan. Plus, I want to feel well for Origins Gaming Convention.

I’m going to go have fun and play role playing games with my friend Stephe for the next four days. I have worked long hours for the last week and really need the break. Last year I had to do my paper route before I could go to the convention. This year I sensibly am having neighbor Dan doing my route this week.
